Cancellation periods and price guarantees are contract details worth checking together. One tells you when a contract can change; the other describes which price elements are protected and for how long.
Check the contractual timeline
Note the contract end date, the regular cancellation period and any renewal rules. This makes it easier to decide calmly instead of reacting at the last moment.
If a price change is announced, the notice may state a special cancellation right. The letter and its deadline are decisive for that situation.
Read the guarantee wording
Price guarantees can exclude specific components such as taxes, levies or network charges. Check the scope and end date rather than relying on the label alone.
A contract can be assessed properly only with all key terms together: annual consumption, energy price, basic charge, duration, cancellation period and guarantee.
A short checklist
- contract end and notice period
- renewal conditions
- scope and end date of the guarantee
- price-change notice where relevant
