With a dynamic tariff, part of the electricity price follows short-term market prices. That can create opportunities, but it also requires a tariff and consumption pattern that fit together.
How a dynamic tariff works
The energy price can change during the day. It is therefore not a universal money-saving tip for every household.
It can be more relevant when you can move certain electricity use to lower-price time windows and want to follow the conditions actively.
When a fixed tariff may be better
A conventional tariff with a clear price guarantee may suit you better if you want predictable costs or cannot shift your consumption.
Technical metering and billing requirements depend on the specific offer. Ask the supplier about them and about possible additional charges before you decide.
A short checklist
- ability to shift consumption
- metering and billing requirements
- price components and fees
- need for predictable costs
