Not every question needs a long consultation. These answers provide a first overview; your contract documents and the individual situation remain decisive.

Will energy be cut off when switching?

A supplier switch concerns the contract and allocation of the supply point. The physical grid and meter are not simply disconnected because of a switch.

If a process is delayed, basic supply can safeguard continued delivery. A planned interruption is not the normal outcome of a supplier change.

What is useful for a first check?

Postcode, energy type, annual consumption and current supplier are helpful. Depending on the situation, the contract end date or a price-change notice may also matter.

For a first general enquiry, bank data, identity documents and a complete bill are normally not required.

A short checklist

  • current supplier and tariff
  • annual consumption
  • contract end or price-change notice
  • move-related dates when relevant
Good to know: Compare the complete terms and share personal information only when it is needed for a specific step you have chosen.
